Kenneth Fisher is responsible for managing, marketing and leasing a portfolio of more than six million square feet of Fisher Brothers-owned Class A real estate in midtown Manhattan. In addition to his responsibilities at Fisher Brothers, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Real Estate Board of New York Board of Governors and the Washington, DC-based Real Estate Round Table. He is an active philanthropist whose dedication to improving the lives of our military, veterans and their families has been widely recognized at the highest levels. His primary work is as Chairman of the Fisher House Foundation, which builds comfort homes near military hospitals and VA medical centers across the country and in Germany.
In 2009, the Association of the United States Army conferred on Kenneth Fisher its highest honor, the George C. Marshall Award. In 2007, George W. Bush appointed him to the President’s Commission on Care for America’s Returning Wounded Warriors, which conducted a comprehensive review of the care provided to military casualties. He also received in 2005 the Decoration for Distinguished Civilian Service, the highest honorary award the Secretary of the Army may grant to a private citizen. In 2004, he was presented with The Secretary’s Award, the highest honor bestowed on individuals or organizations by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Mr. Fisher has received a Public Awareness Award from the Paralyzed Veterans of America and is a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit. He has also been named one of America’s Best Leaders by US News & World Report and received the Arts & Entertainment television network’s Prestigious Lives That Make a Difference Award. Additionally, he sits on the boards of the Intrepid Museum, New York’s Finest Foundation, AHRC New York City, the Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. He is a director of Strategic Hotels and Resorts, a publicly traded REIT, and served on the board of Realogy Corporation, a publicly traded real estate services entity.
